Heroes come in all shapes, sizes, and even breeds!
When we think of First Responders we maybe think of police officers or firefighters, but humans nonetheless. When in all reality, dogs are First Responders, too!
They serve not only in their own country, but overseas as well. There’s countless dogs in the military serving our country right now!
Today, I’m sharing with you a book titled, “Paws of Courage: True Tales of Heroic Dogs that Protect and Serve” by Nancy Furstinger.
This beautiful picture book features inspiring, heart-string pulling stories about four-legged heroes. They come in all sizes; big and small; young and old.
Synopsis:
”Modern wars recruit more than just human soldiers. Our canine companions also serve in the line of duty and under fire, whether helping police protect our home turf or accompanying soldiers on missions abroad. Readers will cheer for the hero dogs featured in this collection, profiled with stunning photos and inspiring tales of bravery, friendship, heroism, and devotion. Their touching stories are sure to inspire animal lovers everywhere.” (*)
This book blew me away with its beautiful pictures of these heroic pups. I think I felt every emotion flipping through the pages. Everything from grinning from ear to ear to wiping my eyes. I’m a total marshmallow when it comes to animals, in case you didn’t know!
This book would be great for kids from 1-101! It also is a great conversation starter. I love having books like this on the coffee table. That way, when people come over we have something a little more deep than the weather to converse about.
