What To Do When You Don’t Feel God’s Presence!

Over the past few months, I have added quite a few more topics to my blog.

I’ve written a post explaining why I don’t have a “blogging niche.

I still don’t have a blogging niche, but I do have a foundation that my blog, like everything else in my life, is based off of. Jesus.

I know not everyone who follows my blog is a spiritual person and I so respect that! However, I do have many readers who are Christians like myself. So, today I’m going to be sharing ways I “reignite” my faith.

I love Jesus all day, every day. But, sometimes I go through periods where I don’t feel His presence as much as I should or I don’t feel drawn to pray. As of late, I’ve been going through one of those periods.

Hopefully this post will be helpful to some of you guys out there!

5 BestOff-The-Grid Getaways

1 // Talk To God —

This is first and foremost. Communication is key in any relationship and our relationship with Christ should be no different. Even if you don’t feel like He isn’t there; He is. Think of this scripture, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God,who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20. What does that tell you? You we’re crucified when Christ was; your sins washed away; and Christ now lives in you!

It’s like your heart, we know we have it and can feel it beat if we really try, but we’re so used to it every day we forget it’s even there. Jesus’ spirit living inside you and I is no different. We need to always be aware that it is there and what a vital part of our being it is.

2 // Open Your Bible —

Thankfully in today’s world technology has enabled us to have easy access to bibles in most of the world. It doesn’t matter if it’s in handheld form or an e-book, if you have a bible, dive in! Don’t hesitate to open it up; even if you don’t know what you’re looking for! I love going through my old highlights and annotations in my bible when I’m feeling lost. If you don’t have those, I recommend reading the book of 1 John! It isn’t extremely long, but it’s message about love is so beautiful and always re-ignites my fire for God!

3 // Listen to worship music —

Music is such an amazing way to glorify God! When I was so depressed, I would turn on worship music, crawl in my bed, and ask God to take away my pain. When the bridge would come on during a worship song, like this one, I would cry and smile. I would feel God and know that even though my pain was there, He was there and would walk me through it.

4 // Watch an inspirational movie —

Faith-based movies are a great way to get inspired when you’re feeling uninspired. A few of my favorites include, Heaven Is For Real, The Shack, and Miracles From Heaven. These all have such a beautiful plot and story they touch on doubting your faith and the ups and downs of finding it again.

5 // Doubt isn’t always bad —

I think this is going to be the most unpredictable tip of the post, but I really do believe it’s true; doubt can make your faith stronger in the end! When we doubt something so concrete like our faith, we look for evidence to justify it, by doing this we’re digging in deeper and finding even more proof that what we believe is the truth! In the end, your faith might be stronger than it’s ever been before!

I really hope this post was helpful to you guys! I am by no means an expert on all things faith related, but I think sharing wisdom I’ve learned through my own personal experiences might be beneficial to others.

So sorry for not post a lot on the blog recently! I have been immensely busy with work and life, but I promise I will have more posts up soon! Love you guys ❤

Question time:

What do you do to reignite your faith?
