Masami Hair Care Products Review {+GIVEAWAY}

As a girl with curly, frizzy hair that is also color-treated, I need all the help I can get in the “hair care” department.

Today I’m talking about Masami! They’re an amazing vegan/cruelty free hair care company that makes amazing shampoos, conditioners, serums, and more!

About the brand:

“Our story is a love story.  East meets West.  James met Masa.  Clean beauty met performance.

James’ passion for haircare is unmatched, proven by his unwavering commitment to formulate clean haircare products that hydrate like nothing else.  He wanted people to feel great about their hair every day — not just great because their hair looked amazing, but their hair was truly healthy, hydrated and manageable.

Botanically hydrating Mekabu, beneath the Wakame leaf, is filled with ocean vitamins and minerals to leave your hair healthy, shiny and gorgeous.  All of MASAMI’s products are infused with Mekabu powder, fresh from Japan where we source it from a family-owned seaweed company.

MASAMI Shampoo gently cleanses and nourishes for the ultimate in hydrated hair. MASAMI Conditioner leaves hair healthy, soft, and silky. MASAMI Styling Cream provides a light hold but keeps hair flawlessly in place while adding botanical hydration, protection and shine. And MASAMI Shine Serum brings hair to life, providing weightless shine, reflection and Mekabu hydration.

Giving you the ultimate in hydrated hair, because Hydration Is Life.” (*)

To review I was sent their “Mekabu Travel Kit,” which comes with includes a 2 oz. shampoo, 2 oz. conditioner, 2 oz. styling cream, and 1 oz. shine serum.

Firstly, the scent is very refreshing and not too strong. It is pleasant but doesn’t have such a strong scent that it makes you feel like you’re putting perfume on your hair – which I really appreciate!

With each of these products a little bit does go a long way. Which is a huge plus considering this is a higer-end priced line of products.

After just one wash with the shampoo and condition my dry, frizzy, kinky, curly, hair was much softer and smoother, but NOT oily. This is a sign of a great product that knows how to properly provide consumers with moisture for their hair without overdoing it!

This brand talks about how hydration is life and that is so true! Our hair loses its natural moisturization by us color treating it, exposing it to severe heat, and even our diets. I love how Masami refuses hydration in a natural way back into our hair.

Additionally, I also loved the serum and styling cream, but especially the serum!  I use heat on my hair 1-2 times a week and although I use a heat protectant, my hair still shows signs of damage. After straightening my hair, I squirted one pump of the serum into my hands and applied it to the bottom 1/3 of my hair and WOW!

Super soft, silky, and shiny, but NOT OILY! Also, it does not leave a residue at all – none of these products do!

All in all, I would highly recommend this brand if you’re trying to find a new hair care product line. Especially if your hair is needing some TLC!

This brand is priced more on the higher end, but I think just by trying the Mekabu Travel Kit, you’ll be hooked and on the bandwagon! 🙂

    • The MEKABU STYLING CREAM sounds like all I could possibly want in a styling product plus more. I enjoy trying new hair products and I also like for them to smell good.
      I hope I’m not posting this twice. If so you are welcome to delete it.
