One of the many things that are nostalgic for me and bring me right back to me childhood are buffets.

 

There’s something so “down home” and humble about buffets. The comfort food, the casual atmosphere, the family settling. Maybe it’s just me…?

 

While I don’t go to buffets that much anymore since getting older. I still appreciate them for all the sweet memories they enabled me to have with family.

 

One staple buffet my family and I would go to was “Old Country Buffet.”

 

I simply was addicted to their mac and cheese and still am, ha! I just love how thick and creamy it is without too much cheese sauce. It is so decadent and rich. YUM!

 

Also, their mashed potatoes aren’t too shabby either!

They have everything from lighter fare (salads and soups) to full blown entrees (steaks and fried chicken!)
