Scriptures For When When You Question Your Worth

One of my favorite posts to write are my “Scriptures For…” posts. I find that these posts are ones even I find myself going back to and finding peace i.

God’s word is truly a gift that is priceless.

Today’s post is on scriptures for when you question your worth. In today’s world of comparison, envy, and self-doubt, I feel this post is very relevant. I hope the next time you question your worth you can find some truth and solitude in these God breathed verses. You are truly to die for; Jesus is proof of that.

Psalm 139:14 (NIV) –

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

Genesis 1:26 (NIV) –

“Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’”

Ephesians 1:4-6 (NIV) –

“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will — to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.”

1 Peter 2:9 (NIV) –

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

Luke 12:7 (NIV) –

“Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”

Isaiah 43:1 (NIV) –

“But now, this is what the Lord says—
  he who created you, Jacob,
  he who formed you, Israel:
‘Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.'”

I know not everyone is a follower of Christ, but that doesn’t mean that you cannot find peace in these verses. No matter what or who you believe in, we all want to know that we are loved and have worth. I hope this post was even the smallest bit of an encouragement to you.

Question time:

  1. Thanks for this! It’s so easy to criticize yourself, find fault and just look at the things that you aren’t or don’t have. A lot of people need to be reminded that they are truly worth so much (:
