Scriptures For When You’re Anxious.

Blackbird.png

Hi my sweet friends! As humans our lives are ever evolving. We’re always growing, or preparing for the next season of our lives. I made a post for Scriptures Of Encouragement a few months back and so many of you enjoyed it. So today, I’m going to share some scriptures that I’ve found to be reassuring in times of anxiety. Between school, life, and all the goings on in the world; life can become a little frightening at times. But, I trust in knowing that God holds my future in the palm of His hand. I hope this post brings a sense of peace to you 🙂

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) :

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

John 14:27 (NKJV) :

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

1 Peter 5:6-8 (NKJV) :

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”

Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV) :

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Matthew 6:25-27 (NKJV) :

“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?”

Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV) :

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Hopefully you guys enjoyed this post! Even if you’re not a Christian, I hope you found it encouraging that everyone goes through anxious periods in their lives. No matter what or who you believe in; you’re never alone.

See y’all in my next post ❤

  2. These are great scriptures for coping with anxiety. I have learned through a life long battle with anxiety that the best way to handle any unpleasant feelings is to just give them their moment in time and they will pass. The harder you struggle against anxiety or just feeling awful , the more power you give to it. By allowing the feeling its time, it loses its momentum and passes much more quickly. I suppose my method is similar to giving it up to your higher power. In event, letting go of trying to control it all has been a very effective method for me.

Thank you so much for sharing this lovely post and for linking up with me On the Edge of the Week. I hope to see you again next week. Have a beautiful and blessed weekend!

  3. Once as a young mother, I was anxious and worried about so many things. After praying I turned to my scriptures and let them fall open and I found Luke 10:41-42. I was reminded about what was most important in my life. These verses have been important to my heart ever since that day, about 30 years ago.

  4. Thank you for these! I definitely have a tendency to overworry/overthink things (although I’d like to think I’m better about it than I used to be), but these will be really helpful! I especially love the first two! ❤

  6. Love these! One of my favorites that has brought a lot of comfort to me over the years is Isaiah 41:13. I just love the image of God taking hold of my right hand and telling me not to fear and that He will help me. Love this post! 🙂

  8. These scriptures were presented to me at the perfect time. I especially found comfort in Matthew 11:28-30. I have been very weary lately and consumed by anxiety. I needed to be reminded of who is really in charge of my loved ones. It is hard for this mama bear to submit to God sometimes.

I hope you continue this blog for a long time. You may have no idea how many people you are blessing.

    • Lena, you are such a sweetheart! Thank you so much for your kind words!

I’m so glad this post offered some comfort to you. I can totally relate to the struggle of relinquishing control over to God. At the end of the day, I know His plans are much greater than mine. So, I try and remind myself of that whenever I’m feeling anxious. Wishing you a wonderful week! God bless ❤
