Happy Monday! I know I’ve only been blogging a little over for 6 months, but in those 6 months I’ve learned quite a few things. I’m sure if you’re a blogger you can relate to at least one or two of these things. Even if you’re not a blogger, I hope you enjoy the post!
1. Better English.
Not going to lie, English has never been my best subject in school. So, when I started blogging I knew that I needed to step up my grammar skills, and over the months I’ve definitely seen them improve! So, I’m super pumped about that 😉 Of course I still use my computer’s spell check (doesn’t everyone..?) but I’ve made progress nonetheless.
2. The World Isn’t That Big.
The internet can be a beautiful place. I’ve made so many amazing friends through blogging. Of course there’s going to be people who don’t like you and that’s okay! I’ve “met” people from all over the world, people who are different ages, religions, ethnicity’s, etc. and we’re the best of pals. What I’m saying is, the world is as big as you make it. We’re not as different from others as we think we are. We all know kindness, we all know hurt. We’re given this outlet and we can use it for good or for bad. The choice is ours.
3. Be Authentic.
One thing I hope I always am is true to myself. That’s something that my mom has instilled in me from a very young age and I hope I never lose it. Through blogging I’ve learned that people really will like you for you! Don’t try to be like anyone else. Sure it’s great to take inspiration from others and better yourself, but never lose sight of who you are.
4. Hard Work Pays Off.
I’m still pretty new to this whole blogging thing, but I’m so grateful for all the positive feedback I’ve gotten thus far. I’m almost to 90 Bloglovin’ followers! To know that many people care to be notified when I publish a post makes me SO happy!! I never thought I’d have that many people reading my blog in half a year?! Thank you!
5. You Can Make An Impact.
One of the main reasons I started my blog was to be an encouragement to others. I’ve had people tell me that one of my posts brightened up their day or put a smile on their face. As a christian I strive to exalt Christ’s love in all I do. So, kind words like those are such a blessing to me. Don’t ever let anyone convince you that your voice can’t be heard.
6. Blogging Isn’t Easy.
To be honest, I never thought blogging was “easy” per say, but it’s harder than I thought. Between writing posts, responding to emails, promoting on social media, and so many other things, it gets pretty time consuming. But, I wouldn’t have it any other way. It is so rewarding and I’ve met so many awesome people. I get so excited whenever I get a new comment on my blog or follower on Twitter. Interacting is so fun! I love getting to know the people who help make my blog what it is; that’s YOU my readers! Graceful Coffee wouldn’t be here without your love and support. ❤
Well, there’s six things blogging has taught me. Who knows, maybe on my 1 year blogiversary I’ll do six more?! This has been a great experience so far and I cannot wait to see what the future will bring. 🙂
Question time:
What’s one thing blogging has taught you?
If you’re not a blogger, what’s your favorite thing about the internet?
Blogging has definitely given me better English too! I’d say the main thing blogging has taught me is that there are more lovely people out there than I thought all so encouraging of each other and it’s just such a lovely community to be a part of! Definitely agree it isn’t easy though!

Blogging has taught me that I love to write. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve always enjoyed it, but blogging has become my way to get all the thoughts I have swirling through my head down “on paper” in a place that other people can see what I’m thinking about and respond to it. I also love how open other bloggers are to collaboration. Although I’ve only been regularly blogging the past 2 1/2 months, I’ve already guest posted on one blog and become a contributor on another. Blogging has been the doorway for me to communicate my passions to the world at large, and it’s so amazing just to get that one comment that says, “Thank you. This is just what I needed.”

I love writing too, and blogging is such a great outlet to share that passion with the world. It’s such a rewarding feeling getting positive feedback and knowing that people are enjoying your work. Hope you have a great rest of your week. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🙂

I really like your blog and your Christian values- starting so young, you are definitely going to do well! You are so great at commenting and I appreciate your support more than you know. I started my blog about 6 months ago too and learned it takes SO MUCH time! I could never have imagined the commitment. It’s beyond a full time job! Keep it up girl!

This is such a great post! I can totally relate to all of it especially #6…blogging is so time consuming! But I love doing it, so I don’t mind the time commitment. And I also have met so many amazing and wonderful and encouraging and empowering people from all over the world through blogging. It is a such a supportive community and I am so grateful to be a part of it. I will admit, however, that I was a bit of a “grammar queen” before blogging but I know my writing in general as improved. And I still need spell check, too, but less for grammar and more because I am the worst typist ever! Thank you for sharing these 6 things. I really enjoyed this post!

Number 6 is so true! I had no idea it was so hard before I started. But in a good, fun way if that makes sense. I’m glad you’re staying true to yourself because that’s the most frustrating thing about identifying with a blog and slowly realizing that it’s taking a different direction, away from authenticity. Good luck in your next 6 months 🙂
