Netflix Family Movie Guide

baby shower ideas

One great way to spend more time with your family is by sitting down and watching a movie. One thing (among many) that I love about Netflix is that there’s hundreds of different things to watch! Movies included! Of course some of these shows aren’t appropriate for all ages. So, I thought I’d make a list and share with you some of my favorite movies that are perfect for adults, teens, and kids.

Hotel Transylvania 2

Rating: PG

Length: 1 hour 25 min.

“Dracula and his friends try to bring out the monster in his half human, half vampire grandson in order to keep Mavis from leaving the hotel.” (source)

My Thoughts: I thought that this was such a cute movie! I have no idea why the Hotel Transylvania movies aren’t more popular. They’re funny, have a plot, and show that everyone’s family is unique in their own way.

Heart Of The Country

Rating: PG

Length: 1 hour 29 min

The story of a girl who abandoned her family for the big city, returns home to the heart of the country. She finds values and love there that her life was missing. You can always go home. (source)

This movie I watched a couple years ago with my mom, grandmother, and uncle. We were out of town and didn’t have any internet or satellite/cable TV. All we had was an Xbox and a flat screen. So we drove up to the nearest red box and tried to find a movie that was appropriate for us to watch together. This fit the bill perfect! Yes, it’s a romance, but it’s not packed with loads of foul language or sensual scenes. Which is hard to find in today’s world 😉

Ring The Bell

Rating: PG

Length: 1 hour 36 min

When high-powered sports agent Rob Decker arrives looking for his next major league prospect, he finds more than he bargained for at the Cooke Boys Ranch. As he works to secure Shawn Hart, the top high school baseball prospect in the country, he encounters a cast of characters who value happiness and common sense over dollars and cents. (source)

This movie has such a great message! It touches on faith, self discovery and a tiny bit of romance. Men and women of all ages will enjoy this one.

Nanny Mcphee

Rating: PG

Length: 1 hour 38 min

Emma Thompson stars as a governess who uses magic to rein in the behavior of seven ne’er-do-well children in her charge. (source)

This was a movie I remember watching with my grandma and loving! It brings back such good memories of my early childhood. This movie has a small “spooky” undertone that makes it a little scary, but still appropriate for kids.

Home

Rating: PG

Length: 1 hour 34 min

An alien on the run from his own people makes friends with a girl. He tries to help her on her quest, but can be an interference. (source)

I’ve seen this movie twice and loved it even more the second time. Even if you’re not an animation fan, you need to watched this! It has a great message, music, and is quite funny. The voices of the characters are made up of a great cast Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, and Jim Parsons (to name a few.) This is one movie that is an animation classic ❤

That’s my top 5 family friendly movies as of right now. I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Although I’m a teenager, I know that I have some adults who read my blog that have kiddos. So hopefully you’ll use this list the next time you’re planning a family movie night or just wanna watch something lighthearted :]

Question time:

What are you loving on Netflix right now?

Are you an animation fan?
